Cœur de Pirate

11 11 2008

I got my very first iPod ever (it’s a black 16GB iPod nano) last month. It’s been a good 7 years since the very first iPod came out but if you’re wondering why I bought my very first this time around, I could only tell you that this is the right time to get one. Imagine a 2GB iPod nano about a couple of years ago cost just the same as the one I just recently bought… I knew the technology will expand.

But anyways, as the days went by with me handling this thing, I got fond of Podcasts. The very first podcasts I downloaded were the ones provided by CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation). I was able to get episodes of Jian Ghomeshi’s “Q”, Sook-Yin Lee’s “Definitely Not The Opera”, “As It Happens”, Nora Young’s “Spark” – all from CBC Radio One, and George Stroumboulopoulos’ “The Hour” – which is shown at CBC Television. Then I got podcasts from Japanese Radio Stations such as TBS 954FM, J-WAVE, Japan FM and Tokyo FM.

As I kept searching for more podcast sources on CBC, I found CBC Radio 3’s Canadian Indie Music Program. And from an episode of the show, I was able to find this band from Montreal called Cœur de Pirate or Heart of the Pirates (That’s my rough translation of it). I like the music they played in the show and I would like to share this song that they performed, which is entitled “Comme des enfants”, with everyone passing by here at my blog. I’m yet to figure out the lyrics – I have to admit it, I don’t have a background in French hehehe. It seems also that the lyrics doesn’t match the song so I hope I can find the correct lyrics.

Ton rire me crit, de te lacher
