I would like to wish everyone a Happy Chinese New Year!

All the prosperity to everyone!

This is the year of the rat and it’s my third encounter of the rat since my birth about a couple of decades ago - dunno if anyone would actually try to guess my age with that little clue.

There are a lot of things to consider for introspecting and one of them is the possibility of getting a new job. Being in the year of my own Chinese zodiac, I think this is it. I’m glad that got some opportunities that kept me moving on. So far, these are my achievements:

1. Learning languages

2. Reading tons of novels and other books

3. Finishing a Speed Reading Course

4. Enrolled in a Leadership and Public Speaking Course

5. Keeping my pursuit for a career and not for a job

6. Realizing the greatness of life

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

1 01 2008

Just wanna greet passersby a Happy New Year!

Had two parties in celebration of the occasion - the other one is still going on at this moment. This morning, we went to our very first mass service of the year and it’s a blessing because a bishop was the celebrant.

Anyways, there are a lot of things that I realize every time and I definitely want to share it here and be able to keep note of these as I move on with life. Here’s a special one!

One is taking compliments. If you’re mad at someone when that person gave you a nice compliment, it means that you don’t want to take the compliment from that particular person or you don’t want to listen to a particular kind of compliment.

I think it’s bad to think that way! People give nice compliments because aside from the fact that they don’t want to hurt people’s feelings, they want to show politeness so that we won’t be thinking so badly about them in return and it means that they want to keep us company, they want to keep the solidarity among friendships and other kinds of relationships that they have with each other.

So as a New Years’ message, take a good look at compliments, DO NOT take them as something to prove anything about your appearance or your personality or your achievements. Take them as a sign of people wanting to keep solidarity with the relationship that they have with you, a sign where you have to give others your listening ear and becoming considerate just as how you want others to become considerate about you when you are making convictions. Being considerate between people is a mutual process. When it goes out of hand, one at least must calm down because as proven through experience and observation and peer stories, one cannot extinguish fire with fire.

Again, a HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE!!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Wishing everyone a Blessed and Merry Christmas!

I just love it when this season comes; though we couldn’t really feel it because of how busy life is through school and work. I couldn’t even do countdowns or talk about gifts or anything related to the usual stuff about Christmas that stresses you out. The only person who reminds me of the occasion is obviously the priest in our parish church; and to tell you, it makes me feel great cause I get to know the real reason why we still celebrate this occasion. Though I have become an open-minded Catholic, I definitely can’t accept the fact that people should disregard Christmas. It’s a day when we don’t stress ourselves and when we don’t think about anything else but having a great time with family and friends.

Our house is quite fully decorated with Christmas stuff. It’s really nice that we never forget to include in the nativity scene which is the real reason why there is Christmas. If it weren’t for the story and the artistic depiction of the event, we won’t think of his holiday as something that is of a great significance than lessay Family Day, a new holiday here in Canada, which is coming up on February next year. Christmas is a lot more of a Family Day than any other holiday ever created.

Thinking about this reminded me about those who left Christianity, never became or never considered being Christians in their lives. I’m not trying to force people to become Christians, but they should be reassured that Christianity has brought itself to a humble place in this world for a lot of people and that I myself consider the Bible as something that can help people to have a fruitful life as any kind of literature there is in this world.

The only thing I will not support are fanatics who would kill for what they believe in. For me, the foundation of Christianity is something that should gather people of the same interest with a mission to provide everyone with moral values that they can use in their lives practically.

And this occasion should remind us of what the meaning of Christ’s birth is for us in our practical lives: Giving, Loving, Sharing, Family, Acquaintances and Reflections

Well, there may be plenty of words left unsaid but nonetheless, I wish everyone to have a peaceful Christmas and I hope to be able to share more stuff here in the near future.
